Simian Survivors

SIMIAN SURVIVORS is like Vampire Survivors except every time you level up, your weapons get worse. Once your weapons are fully downgraded, the SUPREME SIMIAN will spawn. Conquer him to win. Is it better to pick up XP as you go? Or wait until there's a lot and then collect it all at once? Which weapon do you need the least help from? This aberration in gameplay forces you to make difficult decisions.

*An average run takes 5-10 minutes.  It will probably take a handful of tries to win.

HOW TO PLAY:

• Move with wasd, arrow keys, or gamepad (Xbox series x and ps4 controllers work for sure, don't be surprised if other gamepads don't work). 
• You will spawn with 3 random max level weapons. 
• Enemies drop XPnuts that you can pick up to level down when you're ready to.
• Explore. You may find helpful items.
• If you want a better experience, download it for windows. No Mac build for now.
• Mobile play is possible if you use a controller on your mobile device.

GAMEJAM:

Since the topic of the game jam is aberration, I thought it would be fun to see how an unwelcome change like levelling down in a roguelite would change gameplay and player strategies to win. It's fun to see how players have to mentally break free of their conditioning to stop picking up XP constantly since that's not always the best strategy in this game.
